COE (Certificate of Eligibility)
October 2026 Intake: The COE Roadmap
The Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is an official document issued by the Japanese Ministry of Justice. It is the "Golden Ticket" that proves you are eligible to live and study in Japan.
1. The Timeline for October 2026
To fly to Japan in October, your paperwork preparation must start now.
Preparation Period (Now – May 2026): We help you and your sponsor gather all necessary documents.
Submission to Immigration (May – June 2026): Your school in Japan submits your application to the Regional Immigration Office.
COE Result (Late August 2026): Immigration releases the results. This is when you finally know you are going to Japan!
2. Essential Document Checklist
For the October 2026 intake, Japanese immigration has strict requirements for Nepali students:
Academic: Completion of 12 years of education and at least 150 hours of Japanese study (or N5 level proficiency).
Financial: A bank balance certificate showing at least JPY 2,000,000 (approx. NPR 18–20 Lakhs).
Relationship: Proof of relationship between you and your financial sponsor (e.g., birth certificate).
New Health Rule: As a citizen of Nepal, you may be required to submit a Tuberculosis Clearance Certificate for the 2026 intake.
3. Common Reasons for COE Rejection
We help you avoid these common mistakes that lead to rejection for many Nepali students:
Sudden Deposits: Large amounts of money deposited right before applying without a clear source.
Information Mismatch: Differences in your name, date of birth, or family details across different documents.
Weak Study Intent: Failing to explain logically why you want to study in Japan after your previous studies.
Why Sakura?
"Most rejections happen because of 'Information Mismatch' between Nepali and English documents. Our Native Teacher reviews your 'Statement of Purpose' to ensure it meets the strict standards of the Tokyo Immigration Bureau."
